A distinctive plate, this one. Half is painted flat blue, the other half is painted gloss red. I'm guessing that the entire plate is blue and the red portion was masked and painted.
	This is the previous Kentucky passenger plate, issued from 1998 to 2003. One of the nicer-looking general issues out there, in my opinion.
	Another interesting plate here...not sure if the first letter in the serial indicates what type of vehicle it was used for, or if it's just part of the numbering sequence.
	So here's the 2003 Kentucky general-issue plate. If it strikes you as a little too, uh, happy, you're not alone. A lot of Kentucky residents complained that this plate was pretty goofy. Perhaps the state took the idea of 'license plate as rolling tourism billboard' a little too far with this one.
