I've always been fond of white-on-red plates. The narrow Mississippi dies leave lots of blank space on low-quantity issues like this one, which is issued to for-hire carriers. |
|
This looked like a trailer plate to me, so I gave it a corresponding filename, but after further research, I learned it's a Bus plate. I like the slightly different format, with the smaller numbers at left - do they correspond to the bus size? - but it looks like it could use some kind of designation at the bottom. |

Looks like they could fit almost nine characters on this plate, doesn't it? It features a magnolia, which disappeared on this plate's replacement but made an eventual return... |

...roughly twenty years later. |

The magnolia stays on the 2003 Mississippi issue (though it's shrunk a bit), and those wavy blue lines at the bottom are supposed to conjure up the mighty Mississippi river. This plate is more attractive than some states' optional issues, in my opinion. |
