MT 84 Apportioned
MT 87 Apportioned
I've always liked the looks of Montana's painted plates with non-painted debossed areas, like these two Apportioned plates.
MT Centennial
A limited-time baseplate commemorating Montana's Centennial in 1989. Note that the embossed border does not cross the state outline at the bottom. I know I'm getting away from passenger plates and special issues, but I've always really liked this one.
MT Vet
A previous-generation (pre-2000) Veteran base, with county sticker at bottom (2).
MT Dealer
A 1996 Dealer plate with a 1997 renewal sticker. I like the embossed state border and steer head.
Pioneer Montana
This is a fairly unique plate that is issued to vehicles manufactured before 1937 (if memory serves). It may be the only U.S. auto/truck plate currently in use that does not adhere to the 12x6" dimension guidelines, as this plate is approximately 13x6".
