My wife got this 1970 issue for me in Québec a few years back. She's so supportive of my strange hobby.

This issue was the forerunner to the current plate, with the fleur-de-lys in a box followed by 'Québec' much as it remains today. This was the last year for the 'La Belle Province' ("The Beautiful Province") slogan.

Same basic format, but with color and slogan changes. The 'Je me souviens' slogan ("I remember") remains on current Québec plates and is a politically-charged (secession, anyone?) allusion to the unique French history that sets Québec apart from all other North American jurisdictions.

This is the current baseplate, validated with windshield stickers since the early 90's (hence the stickerless sticker boxes in each corner). You can still see older Québec plates on the road with early 90's stickers on them.
