Very simple, minimal graphics, but it works for me. This plate celebrated South Dakota's centennial in 1989, and was issued from 1987-1989.
	A very nice graphic issue - earthy tones, very legible. This plate was issued from 1990 to 1995.
	This plate took quite a few steps backward in the legibility department. Collectors thought they had another 'modern rarity' on their hands soon after this plate was introduced in 1995 due to legibility issues on the part of the police, but this plate staggered on into 2000 before it was replaced.
	And here is its replacement. While very simple graphically, it attains a sort of elegance that really appeals to me. I'm sure that legibility was near the top of the list when planning the new design.
	Obviously, South Dakota likes for its non-passenger plates to be very clean and legible as well.
