VT 76 Well, this plate has a bit of a fade to it. One of the nicer stickers you'll see, for sure, in celebration of the Bicentennial.
VT undated This is the "round sticker recess" plate. Can't recall the original purpose for the round recessed area, but it was never used. This plate is probably from 1977 (first issued in late 1976). Note the different dies used on this issue.
VT 84 After these above plates were issued through Z9999, these AB123-format plates were issued.
VT 89 This is the current base plate, with the thicker, old-style dies. This plate is from 1989; these plates were first issued in 1985.
VT 90 HUP This one could win an award for battle scars. It's an apportioned-type plate that used to appear on the front of tractor-trailer rigs - looks like this one was under a few of them as well. These plates were replaced in 1991 with stickers displayed on the truck's side. I like it because it's not green...see below for a couple of other Vermont plate colors.
VT 96 Current baseplate with newer, skinny dies, from 1996. Vermont should be all set with this ABC 123 format until the end of time, along with Alaska. I think this ABC 123 format has been around since 1991, and crossed into the Exx series in mid-2005.
VT Falcon
VT Falcon error
This is the optional Peregrine Falcon plate that is highly sought-after by collectors. Very interesting manufacturing process on these plates; best I can tell, the green area to the left of the falcon is screened on, while the green area to the right is painted. They must have to apply a decal over the falcon image to keep the paint from getting too far over. Much more complicated than your typical plate manufacture, but a very nice-looking plate as a result.

The second plate I actually traded the first one for. My original interest was for the number, but it wasn't until later that I noticed that the serial contained both a letter O and a number zero!

VT Well Drill A fairly unique type and something you won't likely see on the road anytime soon, unless it's on a well-drilling implement.
VT Special Weight Another different type, and a neat color combo. I've been told that these plates have been discontinued, but I believe they were for extra-heavy trucks. This is a sample plate - check out the mismatched zeros (again)!
VT Municipal Another well-worn plate, this Municipal plate is, but it demonstrates the last of the 'other' Vermont plate colors.
