WA yellow pers.
This is a personalized plate that was issued on an optional green-on-yellow variation of the otherwise identical green-on-white baseplate. This color variation was an option only for vanity plates, from 1973 until 2000, when all green-on-yellow plates were replaced.
WA 97
This is the first iteration of the Mt. Rainier graphic plate, first introduced in 1987 and issued through 1990, when the "Centennial Celebration" slogan was removed (see next plate).
WA 97
Tom Pierce, this one's for you! Everyone else, this is your standard run-of-the-mill Washington passenger plate. As of 1998, new issues have a different font for "Washington," which is now in all caps and at top left.
WA apportioned
Washington is one of those states that issue most of their plates on the same base. This plate uses a two-letter suffix and an "Apportioned" legend at bottom to differentiate it from a regular passenger plate, much to the chagrin of people that collect interesting non-passenger plates...like me.
WA 2000
This is the current Washington passenger issue, introduced in 1998 as referenced above. Besides the font change and the addition of the "Evergreen State" slogan at bottom, the embossed border is gone. Its absence cleans the plate up, in my opinion.

One last change is that they made the dash seperator larger for some reason.

Evergreen H/C
This is the handicapped version of the current base. Great number! Thanks to Josh for donating this one to the collection.
