WV Used Car Dealer
West Virginia is one of a small number of states that change their dealer plates every year. This is one of the best color combinations for a dealer plate I've seen...usually they're supremely boring.
WV state map
This is the newer version of the once-ubiquitous West Virginia base that was used from 1976 to 1982 with a light blue border around the state map, and from 1982 into 1995 as you see here, with no such border.
WV passenger
This is the current West Virginia passenger plate, in use since 1996. The "N" at the beginning of this plate denotes a November registration...digits 1-9 represent January through September, and O, N and D represent October - December. Newer versions of this plate have the state's website address tucked in below the blue band at the top.

The interesting thing about this plate is the fact that the "98" sticker at bottom right isn't a sticker at all, but is screened into the plate along with the other graphics.

WV Scenic
I'm a very big fan of these 'landscape' plates, like this Virginia optional issue. This optional "Scenic" plate, as it's called (hence the 'S' in the registration number), is one of the best-looking landscape variants out there, in my opinion. The year stickers on this plate are real; the leading "5" in the registration number denotes a May expiration.
